Automotive Mechanic I
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Mechanic I for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan.
Overview
The automotive mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The automotive mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years of previous experience required.
- Preferred: Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
- Preferred: National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
- Preferred: State Mechanic Certification(s).
- Preferred: Valid drivers license.
Requirements
- Must have your own tools.
- Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
