Talascend is currently seeking a Buyer for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio.
Overview
The role involves purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors, evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
- Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or buying
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Knowledge of buying strategies, supplier relations, and cost control
- Proficient in procurement software and tools including Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Continuous learning and self-development
- Candidates must be US Citizens
- Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance
Preferred Requirements
- SAP experience
- Planning experience
- Aerospace background
- JIT
