Talascend is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our nuclear power industry client.

Overview:
Joining our client's team, you'll support the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) program and related projects. As a Systems Engineer, you'll collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to develop and design MCFR, working across various disciplines such as safety, thermal analysis, stress analysis and process/control analysis. Candidates must have extensive experience in systems engineering and design coordination across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and refine plant-level and system-level requirement and specification documents using Confluence and Jira.
  • Manage verification traceability of stakeholder requirements down to system and component requirements.
  • Document verification compliance and oversee product quality.
  • Facilitate design reviews and integration meetings.
  • Apply Systems Engineering principles to the design of nuclear and industrial facilities and its systems.
  • Develop and manage the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Support the Lead Systems Engineer with final design documentation and handoff to design authority.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in requirements management.
  • Experience in performing requirement verification for at least one project.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Systems Engineering design approach in industrial, energy or other highly complex, regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Confluence and Jira is highly desirable.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to technical excellence.
  • Ability to lead a design team with minimal direction.
  • Experience working to quality standards on design activities (e.g., ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, AS-9100).
  • High degree of trust, integrity, and teamwork.
