Talascend is currently seeking a Nuclear Testing Program Coordinator for a Remote Contract Opportunity.

SUMMARY:

Company is seeking to contract with a highly capable and motivated Testing Program Lead. This position reports to the Design Authority Deputy Programs Manager and provides day-to-day support of Company projects and assists in the development of the Testing Programs to meet the established regulatory requirements. Works in close consultation with Engineering, Operations and Licensing staff to ensure regulatory requirements are identified and implemented in accordance with company design and licensing strategy. Assists in defining and executing the design and licensing strategy for Testing Programs and participates in interactions with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission including pre-application discussions, preparing/reviewing topical reports and other reactor licensing documentation, and responding to requests for additional information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages and coordinates the successful design and implementation of the overall testing program.  This includes, but is not limited to, prototype, equipment qualification, component and pre-operational tests.
  • Manages the Natrium Test Directory
  • Coordinates with design personnel to ensure new designs and design changes meet Test Program regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains documentation in compliance with the Test Program, regulations and strict quality assurance standards.
  • Interfaces with technical discipline teams, partners and contractors.
  • Reviews technical material such as programs, test requirement documents and specifications prepared by themselves and others.
  • Reviews correspondence to and from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • Assists with safety analysis report (SAR) revisions and preparation.
  • Establishes this testing program and processes to identify, quantify, assess, and communicate Tests and Test plans.
  • Ensures that training identified to support the implementation of this program is developed and implemented into the learning management system (LMS).
  • Implements the Natrium testing program plan.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or related technical field from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years applicable experience in development and implementation of equipment and system test programs.
  • Ability to contribute to the testing program development from blank sheet to final qualification.
  • Knowledge of and how to implement relevant Codes and Standards related to testing of Structures, Systems and Components.
  • Experience or familiarity with NEI 18-04 and Regulatory Guide 1.233.
  • Experience or familiarity with Regulatory Guides associated with Equipment and System Testing.
  • Direct experience with vendor test facilities a plus.
  • Awareness and current knowledge of trends and nuclear industry activities related to testing.
  • Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional.
  • Project management and project management tools experience with the capability and willingness to assume full responsibility for a project task
  • Strong communication skills desired
