Engineering Job Fairs
You can meet Talascend at engineering job fairs and events in the US, UK, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Talascend maintains a regular presence at conferences and events where engineers meet to look for job opportunities and fill jobs on active engineering projects.

Career fairs are a great place to network and meet other engineers, and to discuss your options for current and future engineering jobs.
We would recommend that you investigate local events in your area. If you do need to travel, we
strongly advise that you take the time to explore the individual event and make sure it is right
for you. If you call Talascend, we can run through your resume with you and give you advice on
whether or not the engineering event you’re considering is right for you.
Tips for making engineering job fairs successful
- Take resumes – hard copy and electronic
No matter how many resumes you take, you may run out. There’s no harm in having your resume in a soft copy on a dongle. Some employers may prefer this to the paper version
- Dress for a job interview.
You’re going to meet potential employers. You can’t lose anything by being well dressed.
- Behave like a job candidate, not a customer
If any part of the experience is not ideal, remember that you’re talking to prospective employers, not people you’ve paid to provide a service. You’re all there for mutual benefit.
- Make good contacts, not just contacts
Asking someone for a business card and walking away with it gets you nothing you can’t get on Google or Linkedin. Try to have conversations and retain some element of the conversation that will set you apart when you follow up.
- See everyone you can
Once you’re there, you’ve already made the largest time commitment. You may as well make the most of it. If there’s a long wait to see an engineering employer, take the time. You’ll be glad you did if it turns out to be the break you were hoping to get.
