Power Projects of Note
Below are a selection of projects of which we have been a part.
Staythorpe CCGT Power Station is a proposed £800m project located in Nottinghamshire which will include a 1500MW plant. The state-of-the-art station is expected to start generating in 2009.
Medupi Power Plant Project - South Africa
The project involves construction of a new 4,800MWe coal fired power plant, which will comprise of six 800MWe units. The plant will be located at Lephalale in the Northern Borders Providence and is estimated to cost $3.2b.
Springerville Generating Station
The power plant currently consists of two coal-fired steam turbine units, each with a nominal rating of 380 megawatts (MW). A recent decision provides conditional approval for two additional coal-burning steam turbine generating units (Units 3 and 4), each with a nominal rating of up to 400 MW.
Gwynt y Mor Offshore Wind Farm
This is the construction of a 750MW offshore wind farm comprising of 200 turbine units. It will be located in the North West area of Wales within the 12 mile offshore zone in a range of water depths. The project will connect ashore at an underground cable substation at Belgrano in Conwy and then cabling will run underground to a new build substation at St Asaph where the National Grid will permit for an overhead line connection to the grid.
