Sr. Backend Engineer - Java & NestJS

Overview
Our client is undertaking a major migration from NestJS services to a Java-based microservices architecture. This role offers a high degree of ownership over the design and execution of a key architectural transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and migration of backend services from NestJS to Java microservices
- Gather and analyze system requirements and specifications
- Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain scalable software solutions
- Prepare software specifications and test plans
- Conduct unit testing, create test data, and perform quality assurance reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both new and existing systems
- Implement system software tailored to client requirements
- Support migration, user testing, and post-implementation validation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience with NestJS
- 10+ years of Java experience, preferably with Spring Boot
- 10+ years working with MongoDB change streams
- Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Experience with large system development and legacy system troubleshooting
