A Talascend client in Lansing, MI has a contract opening for an Electrician.  The main function of an electrician is to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. A typical electrician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, or repairing electrical equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment; keep parts and supplies organized.
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or faulty parts, and reassemble equipment using hand tools.
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and damaged insulation; tighten connections using hand tools.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
