Talascend is currently seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor for a contract role located in Kokomo, IN. This position will lead small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in driving safety, quality, and efficiency while leading team members and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily production activities and ensure targets are met in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Foster a safe working environment and enforce the use of all required safety tools and procedures.
  • Utilize C-Matrix and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles to analyze shift losses and drive improvements.
  • Manage quality performance through KPI analysis, issue prioritization, and coaching of Team Leaders.
  • Allocate personnel effectively and manage absenteeism, training, and team building.
  • Coordinate with internal support teams and mobilize resources for problem-solving and production optimization.
  • Lead and participate in activities focused on safety, cost, quality, throughput, and waste reduction.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory and manufacturing experience.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physically able to meet manufacturing environment requirements, including frequent standing, lifting (up to 40 lbs), and working in hot/cold or confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience in a unionized and high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite applications.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and work cross-functionally.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work varied shifts and extended hours.
  • Work around heavy machinery and in industrial settings.
  • Must wear PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, sleeves, and earplugs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, use man lifts, and access under-vehicle areas as required.
