Reload Design Engineer

Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Reload Design Engineer to support advanced reactor core design and analysis. This role involves performing neutronic evaluations, fuel management optimization, and supporting reactor operations interfaces.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform core design and analysis activities, including fuel management, power distributions, reactivity coefficients, control rod worth, shutdown margin, and sensitivity and uncertainty studies
- Design and analyze new systems to solve complex reactor design challenges
- Execute sensitivity studies to validate modeling assumptions and develop corrected methods if needed
- Establish and maintain documentation of analysis results and neutronic design solutions
Position Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering with 5+ years minimum. Preference for candidates with M.S. degree or Ph.D.
- Knowledge of nuclear reactor design concepts and ability to support engineering and code review
- Expertise in core design and analysis, including reactivity coefficients, shielding, activation, and uncertainty analysis
- Strong computational skills and proficiency with nuclear engineering software such as DIF3D, MC2, PARTISN, MCNP, Serpent, SCALE, PARCS, APA, CASMO/SIMULATE, DRAGON
- Knowledge of nuclear and numerical methods, including PDEs, particle transport, isotopic depletion, and kinetics
- Ability to work within published regulatory guidelines for nuclear reactor design
- Experience with commercial reactor reload analysis strongly preferred
- Experience interfacing with Operations and Reactor Engineers is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in transient analysis, thermal hydraulics, fuel performance, and fast reactor design is desired
- Professional-quality software development skills and strong programming abilities are a plus
- Experience working in NQA-1 environments preferred
- High degree of trust, integrity, openness, respect, and teamwork orientation
