Handyman

Our client is currently seeking a Handyman for a long-term contract opportunity in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Overview
This is a Monday–Friday position located at a client site with travel between Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood, FL. The role involves a variety of maintenance, repair, and painting responsibilities within commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces of buildings

• Maintain and repair locks, doors, and associated hardware

• Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures including toilets, urinals, sinks, water heaters, and piping

• Perform general building maintenance and repair tasks

• Maintain and repair single-phase electrical systems such as breakers, switches, lights, and receptacles

• Patch and paint various work environments, including controlled areas

• Assist operations team with building and equipment maintenance

• Perform general office maintenance, including hanging pictures and minor plumbing repairs

• Complete special tasks such as tenant service requests, locksmith work, and special cleaning

• Move office furniture and equipment as needed

• Support other staff with equipment repairs

• Follow safe handling and disposal practices for hazardous materials

• Maintain clean and organized workspaces and accurate work records

• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and use ladders up to 26 feet

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment

• Level 2 or above painting experience, including epoxy paint

• Experience working in controlled environments is a plus
