Our client, a well-established U.S. manufacturer of steel and fiberglass storage tanks and pressure vessels serving the oil & gas, agriculture, and water industries is expanding operations in Texas. They are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, vendor management, and logistics at their new location in The Woodlands. (This is a Direct Hire role that offers a competitive compensation plan)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage supply chain strategies for materials, including commodities and imported goods.
- Make strategic decisions regarding vendor relationships, technology integration, and long-term planning.
- Identify opportunities for supply chain improvements and innovations.
- Analyze market trends and forecast demand using ERP and MRP systems.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and evaluate new vendor options.
- Implement quality control standards with suppliers to maintain product consistency.
- Develop and maintain inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Lead implementation and integration of NetSuite MRP, warehouse management, and data analytics tools.
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.
- Coordinate material deliveries to plants and special-order deliveries to customer sites.
- Ensure inventory levels support planned production schedules.
- Monitor and report potential supply chain disruptions; develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal purchasing policies.
- Maintain ERP system settings such as min/max levels, reorder points, and preferred vendor listings.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of procurement and negotiation tactics.
- Demonstrated history of achieving cost savings.
- Basic accounting knowledge, including FIFO costing for inventory.
- Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience in purchasing.
