Talacend is seeking experienced Structural Analysis Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Indianapolis, IN. This role will be supporting our advanced engineering projects in the gas turbine and aerospace sector. We are looking for mid-level professionals who can provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior personnel while contributing to a wide range of structural analysis tasks throughout the product lifecycle.

- Mid-level stress analysts (minimum 5 years' experience)
- Proficient in ANSYS, Workbench, and APDL (preferred)
- Experience with thin-walled aerospace structures (preferred for at least one candidate)
- Background in gas turbine systems
- Familiarity with steady-state and modal analysis
- Crack propagation analysis experience
- Testing experience such as strain gauge placement, reading, and post-processing is a bonus
- Perform structural assessments including whole engine modeling, static, and dynamic analysis
- Plan and interpret experimental tests; correlate simulation with physical data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and product support
- Communicate technical findings through reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Support technical and safety reviews, customer meetings, and continuous process improvement
- Associate’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree or PhD/JD in Engineering
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for security clearance
- Finite Element Analysis using Nastran, Ansys, Dyna3D, NX, or similar tools
- Experience in experimental testing, especially vibrating structures
- Understanding of Whole Engine Modeling, rotordynamics, and extreme event assessments (e.g., bird strike)
- Programming/scripting skills in MATLAB, Python, Fortran, C/C++, or Java
- Strong planning, coordination, and time management skills
