Talascend is currently seeking an E-Learning Technical Instructional Systems Designer for a contract opportunity in Warren, MI
Overview:
The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of end-user training materials across a variety of formats. This role supports technical, business, and soft skills training, with a strong emphasis on automotive and manufacturing environments.
The ISD will collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging, effective training solutions that support new system implementations and process improvements. Responsibilities:
Instructional Design & Development
Design and develop training using ADDIE and SAM methodologies.
Deliver content across multiple formats: ILT, VILT, WBT, self-paced, video, podcasts, job aids, etc.
Create instructor and participant guides, technical manuals, and visual aids.
Collaboration & Program Support
Partner with Program Managers to develop training plans and materials.
Work closely with SMEs to gather, validate, and coach on technical content.
Support training setup, testing, and delivery in technical environments.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Analyze training needs and align with business objectives.
Develop assessments and evaluations to measure training effectiveness.
Continuously improve courseware based on feedback and performance data.
Additional Duties
Assist with promotional materials and communication plans.
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or Instructional Design Technology.
Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or e-learning.
Proven experience in automotive/manufacturing environments (non-negotiable).
Expertise in multiple delivery methods: ILT, VILT, WBT, blended learning.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional communication skills across global teams and management levels.
Proficiency in:
Articulate 360 (expert level)
Camtasia
Adobe Photoshop
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Portfolio demonstrating ILT/WBT content using ADDIE and SAM models.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Instructional Design/Technology or related field.
Experience in automotive manufacturing training.
Skilled in creating instructor and participant guides.
Experience with graphic design tools for training promotion.
Underwriting experience would be a plus
