Data Automation Specialist - REMOTE
Our client is currently seeking a Data Automation Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity working fully remote.
Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Automation Specialist to support structured, milestone-based project management efforts and implement automation solutions that streamline reporting and analysis across the enterprise. This role combines project management responsibilities with technical expertise in data automation and systems integration.
Responsibilities

Assist program managers with planning, scheduling, and tracking of project activities, dependencies, and deliverables

Represent program managers in coordination meetings when they are unavailable

Configure and manage Jira projects, issue types, workflows, and dashboards for milestone-driven programs

Develop and implement automation tools and scripts to synchronize data between Jira, Oracle P6, and Oracle ERP

Generate reports that consolidate schedule, cost, and resource data for use in program reviews and executive briefings

Ensure data integrity across systems by maintaining quality checks, validation, and reconciliation processes

Support implementation of Deltek Cobra by the centralized PMO

Create and maintain documentation on project tracking tools, data workflows, and reporting methodologies

Provide cross-functional teams with project status updates, coordination artifacts, and data-driven insights
Requirements
-
10+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or business processes

CAPM or PMP certification or equivalent project management training

5+ years of experience in data automation and project management in complex environments

Expertise with Jira for project planning, task tracking, and schedule management

Strong experience with Primavera P6 for scheduling, resource loading, and data extraction

Proficiency in scripting and data automation tools such as Jira, MS Office, Python, and SQL

Strong communication skills and the ability to train teams on automated tools

High attention to detail in data handling and documentation

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business/program management

High degree of trust, integrity, teamwork, and open communication
Preferred Requirements

Experience with large projects using Oracle P6

Familiarity with Deltek Cobra, Power BI, Tableau, and other data visualization platforms
