Enterprise Application Architect
Our client is currently seeking Enterprise Application Architect for a contract role with our client, on-site in Washington, DC.
Overview
This on-site role involves leading enterprise application architecture efforts, ensuring seamless system integration, and driving cloud-native application strategies. A Public Trust clearance is required.
Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise application architecture aligned with business and IT objectives

Manage the full application lifecycle from concept through deployment and support

Integrate applications across platforms using APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies

Lead development of cloud-native or hybrid solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Optimize application performance for scalability, security, and high availability

Support the migration of applications to cloud infrastructure
-
Document architecture, technical specifications, process flows, and integration patterns

Collaborate with and mentor cross-functional technical teams
-
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience

7+ years in application architecture, with at least 3–5 years in enterprise architecture

Experience with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies
-
Expertise in application integration using APIs and microservices
-
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
-
Strong knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
-
Familiarity with enterprise systems like Salesforce, SAP, or Oracle
-
Understanding of secure coding practices and application security

Experience integrating SQL and NoSQL databases

Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

Proven leadership and team mentoring experience
Desirable:

Experience with hybrid cloud architectures

Familiarity with container orchestration tools

Strong grasp of DevOps principles in enterprise settings
-
Exposure to machine learning and AI integrations
-
Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, CISSP)
