Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a HYBRID opportunity in Novi, Michigan.

OVERVIEW
This role involves performing component trade studies for new and existing hardware, collaborating with electronics engineering to develop enclosures, and ensuring compliance with product certification requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosure.
  • Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines.
  • Support creation of detailed drawings and model-based definition and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware.
  • Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions.
  • Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (i.e. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810).
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience OR MS in with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Gas turbine experience
  • Experience with mechanical enclosure design and analysis
  • Experience with Siemens NX and ANSYS tools
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
