Advanced Analytics Data Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking an Advanced Analytics Data Engineer for a HYBRID opportunity in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Overview
The Advanced Analytics Data Engineer develops, maintains, tests and evaluates data solutions, focusing on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Build what the Advanced Analytics Data Architect has designed.
- Work on implementing complex data projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of related experience required
- SQL expertise and data modeling experience.
- Strong experience with Unix/Linux.
- ETL and data movement tools experience including: DataStage, Sqoop, and Pivotal Data Loader.
- Deep knowledge in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information retrieval.
- Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
- Knowledge of industry standard BA tools, including Cognos, QlikView, Business Objects, and other tools that could be used for enterprise solutions.
- Able to work in teams and collaborate with others to clarify requirements.
- Ability to tune Hadoop solutions to improve performance and end-user experience.
- Understanding of how algorithms work and have experience building high-performance algorithms.
- Enjoy being challenged and to have a desire to solve complex problems on a daily basis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- MapReduce experience is preferred
