Logistics Specialist 2
Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist 2 for a contract opportunity with our client in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Overview
This role is critical in ensuring the timely flow of materials and resolving part shortages that impact production. You will serve as the primary point of contact for escalations, working cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to drive resolution and maintain operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage part shortage escalations across departments and suppliers.
- Coordinate expedited shipments and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize production impact.
- Serve as the escalation point for material delays, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Partner with procurement, logistics, production, and leadership teams to align on material priorities.
- Communicate status updates and recovery plans to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Monitor inventory levels and open orders using SAP and other ERP tools.
- Track and report on material movement, delivery performance, and expedite metrics.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to material availability.
- Evaluate and execute transportation options (air, ground, courier) to meet critical timelines.
- Liaise with carriers and 3PLs to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or material planning.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.

- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable working across all levels of management.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Spanish, Mandarin, or German language proficiency.
Shift
6am-2:30pm PST and 10am-6:30pm, Mon-Fri; Onsite, Start assignment at Casa Grande, AZ; transition to Tempe, AZ (transition timing unknown at this time)
