Entity Controller
Talascend is currently seeking an Entity Controller for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
As the Entity Controller, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive accounting control and compliance, facilitating robust financial reporting, and contributing to business partnership and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as the overall end-to-end owner of accounting, control, and compliance for assigned entities, including journal and account reconciliation approvals.
- Ensure entity compliance with US GAAP and policies, understanding technical accounting aspects such as project accounting, inventory accounting, revenue and cost accounting, assessment and distributions, and COPA cycles.
- Coordinate/lead the balance sheet review process and completion of quarterly variance schedules.
- Perform trial balance flux during month-end close and leverage standard analytics tools to identify issues or anomalies.
- Drive control compliance, taking action, reporting deficient or overlooked controls, and promptly notifying relevant stakeholders.
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations, substantiate and drive closure of aged items.
- Create/maintain documentation, provide adequate and timely support to internal audit, external audit, and SOX compliance activities.
- Maintain transparent accounting practices, ensuring excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review financial reports and other related variables, identifying process improvement opportunities and working with the transformation leader to execute them.
- Partner with the business on new initiatives and projects, managing ad-hoc queries from business and other stakeholders.
- Provide financial reports, analysis, explanations, and advice based on knowledge of financial information, relevant GAAP, and supporting systems to auditors.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
- Required: 2-4 years of related work experience (Public Accounting or Manufacturing Accounting), handling financial statements of manufacturing companies with an international presence.
- Preferred: Master's Degree or 150 credits, CPA Candidate or CPA.

- Process-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with a project mindset and the ability to identify opportunities and lead projects.
- Exhibits effective communication skills and extensive knowledge of internal control framework and SOX in a multinational setup.
- Hands-on experience with systems knowledge of SAP and HFM, knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley, and R2R concepts, processes, and best practices.

Preferred Requirements
- Hands-on experience with SAP/Systems knowledge of SAP and HFM.
