Talascend is currently seeking a Contractor – Strategic Engineering Process Improvement Leader for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.

Overview

This role will play a critical part in developing and implementing efficient processes, defining and tracking key performance metrics, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to meet departmental and enterprise goals.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary advisor and operational partner to the Director, helping translate strategic goals into actionable plans for configuration management, systems engineering and other engineering processes.
  • Identify, develop, and implement scalable processes that improve efficiency, standardization, and quality of outcomes across the organization.
  • Design and manage performance metrics and dashboards to monitor progress, drive accountability, and inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Interface with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership to align priorities, coordinate resources, and resolve issues, especially related to process and infrastructure.
  • Represent the Director in instituting goals and vision in meetings and communications as needed; help to drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Support critical projects and initiatives, ensuring clear scope, timely execution, and measurable impact.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and operational excellence.
  • Role may involve interfacing with Business Development to support Engineering and Natrium Project initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Master’s preferred
  • 15-20+ years of progressive experience in operations, program management, or organizational leadership

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing processes, policies, and performance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with metrics-driven management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead through change.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in ambiguous and chaotic environments where companies are transitioning to complex configuration management and systems engineering processes.
  • Experience in Nuclear, Aerospace, Oil and Gas or Other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in a matrixed or multi-stakeholder environment.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications a plus.
