General Maintenance Mechanic
Talascend is currently seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Chantilly, Virginia.
Overview
This position involves a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, with a focus on painting, carpentry, and general maintenance. The role requires skills in various technical fields, including wall covering, drywall repair, and potentially tile installation, furniture finishing, framing, plumbing, and roofing.
Responsibilities
- Performing painting and wall covering tasks on interior and exterior surfaces
- Installing, repairing, and finishing drywall and plaster
- Removing and reinstalling furniture, equipment, and fixtures in work areas
- Inspecting and repairing damaged surfaces for remodeling projects
- Estimating project requirements and ordering materials
- Using various tools and equipment safely and appropriately
- Completing carpentry, flooring, cabinetry, and related maintenance tasks
- Adapting techniques and principles as needed for different projects
Qualifications
- Vocational training or associate degree in mechanical engineering, carpentry, or related field
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification
Requirements
- Familiarity with cGMP guidelines and FDA regulations
- Experience with specialized pharmaceutical equipment
- Advanced computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering
