Mechanical Maintenance Technician Level III
Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician Level III for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Lakewood, New York.
Overview
In this role, you will make an impact by ensuring equipment reliability, promoting safety, enhancing quality, supporting preventive maintenance, mentoring and leading others, improving processes, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Ensure equipment reliability by troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems.
- Promote safety by adhering to safety protocols and reporting hazards.
- Enhance quality by applying high standards of workmanship and performing quality inspections.
- Support preventive maintenance by providing feedback and performing maintenance activities.
- Mentor and lead by instructing and coaching less experienced team members.
- Improve processes by identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints and participating in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain cleanliness by keeping the work area clean and performing routine housekeeping tasks.
- Foster teamwork through effective communication and participation in Total Productive Maintenance teams.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Must possess 7 years experience working in the relevant Trade field.
- Preferred: 2-year Technical Degree in the related field (Machine Repair, Electrical), plus 3 years experience working in the field of this particular Skilled Trade.

- Completion of PM and WO's tasks in the Maximo system.
- Ability to make decisions based on schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with various electrical tools and safe usage.
- Flexibility within the job scope to assist other areas as needed.
- Provide active training and mentorship for the Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program.
