Distribution Design Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking Distribution Design Engineers for a contract opportunity with our client in several Michigan regions - Traverse City, Cadillac, Kalamazoo, Jackson, Flint, Saginaw, West Branch, Hamilton/Hastings, Grand Rapids.
Overview
The role involves pre-planning, engineering, and designing electric distribution systems, determining the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development while balancing economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints.
Responsibilities
- Develop work packages for overhead, underground residential distribution, and underground cable/conduit.
- Conduct field engineering of project requirements.
- Identify conflicting utilities.
- Perform engineering and design calculations.
- Conduct post-construction reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Requirements

- Basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of a narrow technical domain.
