Talascend is currently seeking a Forklift/Heavy Machine Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Lockport, Illinois.

Overview

The main function of a forklift/heavy machine operator is to operate industrial trucks or machinery in a warehouse, storage yard, factory, construction site, or similar location.

Responsibilities

  • Review product load for accuracy and ensure timely and complete delivery.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment such as cleaning, lubricating or fueling.
  • Weigh materials or products, and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.
  • Signal workers to discharge, dump or level materials.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift operators license required.
  • 8-10 years manufacturing experience required.

Requirements

  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, team player and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
