Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Sewer for a contract to direct role in Hillsdale, MI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble textile and other product parts by operating assembly equipment.
- Responsible for cleanliness and basic maintenance of equipment being used and work area.
- Inspects in-process and finished product to verify conformance using measurements, check fixtures, and gauges, per quality control plans.
- Meets or exceeds production rate/efficiency standards.
- Work closely with production supervisor to accomplish department and company goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
- Perform production reporting functions using ERP system.
- Learn and independently operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Learn and independently use the ERP system.
- Learn and independently utilize department and equipment processes.
- Consistently display company core values.
- Participation in EOS weekly L10 meetings.
- Ability to use assembly equipment such as industrial sewing machines, textile heat bonding equipment, automated sewing equipment, cold cut and heat cut equipment, and other assembly.
- Ability to use hand tools such as scissors, cutting knives and tape guns.
- Ability to use English and metric systems for measuring.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as process routers and work instructions.
- Consistently demonstrates core values.
- Strong attention to detail, good match skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
- Ability to cross train within the assembly department.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions using company ERP system.
