Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Buyer for a contract opportunity with our client in Clearwater, Florida.

Overview

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional proficient in using SAP as their primary procurement software, with a background in purchasing electronic components and/or assemblies, as well as mechanical parts and/or assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier diversity.
  • Oversee complex procurement projects from initiation to completion, focusing heavily on driving continuity of supply and delivery, ensuring project goals are met within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage supplier communication
  • Understand market trends
  • Deal with invoice discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with strategic procurement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (Business, Supply Chain, or applicable technical degree preferred) and 3+ years buyer/procurement experience

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale procurement operations.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies and supplier relationship management.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems (SAP experience a strong plus)
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to drive change and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
