Talascend is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Kansas City, Missouri.

Overview

The project controls specialist leads the project controls efforts and is responsible for the daily management of the project controls tasks. They support and may conduct training, mentoring, and support of internal and external stakeholders regarding project controls technology and processes. They develop and execute project controls quality and consistency plans, interface with clients, attend program meetings, and create reports for the program team and management. They also support the implementation of the program reporting data warehouse, produce client-facing reports, support software configuration, and assist with scheduling, cost management, forecasting, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project controls efforts and daily tasks
  • Develop and execute quality and consistency plans for project controls
  • Support training and mentoring on project controls technology and processes
  • Support and generate statistical reports for the program team and management
  • Maintain and support the program reporting data warehouse and produce reports
  • Assist clients with configuring planning and controls software
  • Perform critical path scheduling, cost management, forecasting, and document control activities
  • Review and implement program execution manuals and earned value management reports
  • Analyze data, run reports, create work breakdown structures, and develop schedules
  • Monitor resource loading and validate progress measurement and reporting accuracy
  • Conduct field audits and support risk management processes
  • Assist with communication of project updates and costs to stakeholders
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical project controls questions
  • Maintain relationships with clients, customers, and contractors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 3 years of direct project controls experience required; applicable experience may substitute for degree
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification
  • Ability to obtain applicable certifications if not already held
