Industrial Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dayton, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves inspecting and maintaining manufacturing machinery and equipment, troubleshooting, performing calibrations, and ensuring the safe operation of production systems.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Interpret schematics, prints, diagrams, and oral instructions to perform tasks
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and identify hazards
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, as well as calibrations
- Prepare new machines and production equipment for operation
- Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts
- Perform welding, grinding, and flame cutting activities
- Work as part of a team and contribute to the maintenance team and facility overall
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines using testing instruments, hand/power tools, and precision-measuring instruments
- Operate tool room equipment including lathe, mill, and drill presses
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an industrial maintenance technician/machine repairman or related work
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and design schematics
- Ability to work in a safety-focused environment
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
