Junior Maintenance Technician
Talascend is seeking a Junior Industrial Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dayton, Ohio.
This is a great opportunity for mechanically minded technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, working with their hands, and keeping production equipment running at peak performance. Candidates with at least one year of hands-on mechanical, maintenance, automotive, military, or similar experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Replace worn or damaged machine components
- Assist with equipment setup and production support activities
- Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to complete maintenance tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions
- Prepare production equipment for operation and support machine changeovers as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Work as part of a team to support production and maintenance goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical repair, automotive repair, military maintenance, or related hands-on technical experience
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read basic blueprints, diagrams, and schematics preferred
- Ability to work in a safety-focused environment
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
