Talascend is currently seeking a Subcontracts Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Tempe, Arizona.

Overview

This role leads the end-to-end lifecycle of FAR 15 proposals and subcontracts in support of key aerospace programs, supporting the Mechanical Assembly Government Sourcing team, and mentoring team members while managing assigned commodities. The position involves proposal development, fulfillment of sales orders, negotiation of subcontracts or long-term purchase agreements, ensuring compliance, and driving supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute FAR 15 subcontracts in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable regulations
  • Develop strong negotiation strategies for contract execution
  • Manage key program suppliers
  • Train and mentor team members
  • Build supplier strategies to deliver best value
  • Deliver compliant FAR 15 proposal packages to government customers
  • Partner closely with Pricing to ensure compliant submissions
  • Negotiate FAR 15-compliant subcontracts with suppliers

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in: sourcing, procurement, supply chain, law & contracts (L&C), business, or finance
  • U.S. Person status (due to contractual requirements)
  • Experience with FAR 15 subcontracting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation capabilities and processes
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Experience working with subcontractors across full program lifecycle
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and DFARS
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, SAP, and other subcontract management tools
  • Supply chain and procurement experience in defense, aerospace, or similar industries
  • Experience managing contract types: FFP, CP, CPIF
  • Experience with truthful cost or pricing data (TCPD)
  • Ability to review and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
