Talascend is currently seeking an AI Solutions Architect for a contract opportunity with our client in Reston, Virginia.
Overview
The AI Solutions Architect designs and governs the technical solutions that support digital and AI initiatives. Working within the strategy, information systems, and technology functions, this role translates business and functional requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective solution designs across applications, data, integration, cloud, and AI/ML platforms. The architect provides leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security, data governance, and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end solution architecture for digital solutions and AI projects, translating business needs into technical designs across various components.
- Provide architectural direction to development teams, vendors, and project stakeholders; review and approve technical designs for quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Ensure solutions conform to enterprise architecture principles, reference architectures, and technology standards.
- Design integrations, APIs, and data flows between applications and enterprise systems to ensure interoperability and data integrity.
- Architect solutions on cloud and platform services (e.g., Microsoft Azure), optimizing for performance, resilience, security, and cost.
- Evaluate and incorporate AI/ML, automation, and emerging technologies into solutions, advising on their responsible application.
- Embed security, privacy, and data-governance requirements into all architectures, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assess technology options, products, and vendors; produce architecture decision records and participate in governance reviews.
- Produce and maintain architectural artifacts and mentor engineers and analysts on best practices.
- Support the development of technology roadmaps, feasibility assessments, and estimates to inform portfolio investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software/engineering, or a related field.
- 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years.
- At least 3 years of experience in a solution architect, technical lead, or equivalent role.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions across applications, data, integration, and cloud components.
- Experience defining integration and data flows across multiple business systems, with an emphasis on security and data governance.
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience applying AI/ML, data & analytics, or automation platforms in enterprise contexts.
- Experience building data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.
