Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan.
Overview
The Automotive Technician will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to ensure vehicle functionality. The role involves working with vehicle setups on the dyno and following specific testing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
- Get vehicles set up on the dyno and follow/trace testing courses similar to video game environments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of previous experience.
- Mechanical ability and the ability to operate shop equipment.
- MUST have rolling toolbox.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
