Talascend is currently seeking a Collections Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in West Babylon, New York.
Overview
This role involves managing collections within a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, focusing on industrial and manufacturing accounts. The specialist will handle account collections, customer service regarding billing issues, and account reconciliations, managing a large portfolio of accounts receivable.
Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts daily to identify outstanding receivables
- Encourage timely payments through collection efforts
- Assist with cash application and customer payment research
- Collaborate with sales and management to accelerate collections
- Communicate effectively with sales regarding customer accounts
- Process credit card and e-check payments and refunds
- Resolve billing issues and discrepancies
- Contact clients about overdue payments
- Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts
- Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress
- Manage up to 1500 accounts
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
- Knowledge of various collection techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- 3-5 years of high-volume collections experience (over 500 accounts)
- Candidates must have consistent work experience with minimal employment gaps or job hopping
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
