Talascend is currently seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for a contract opportunity located in Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse New York.
Candidates will be traveling. Expenses are reimbursed.
Overview:
Will perform quality surveillance activities defined by the assignment scope to verify, through monitoring, observation, document review, and selective hands-on inspection, that supplier furnished material and equipment conforms to the technical and quality requirements of the procurement documents.
Will verify that equipment or materials include defined attributes of recognized codes and standards and procurement document requirements. Rejects material found non-conforming to procurement document requirements. Collaborates with the supplier and project supplier quality personnel to identify a course of action to achieve satisfactory disposition of disclosed non-conformances.
Requirements:
- Must have strong computer skills
- Detailed weekly reporting documentation required
- Reliable transportation
- Will travel regularly across the Western US
- Experience: 4–5 years min of QA/QC and shop surveillance experience.
- Background: Nuclear experience preferred (NQA-1 / DOE environment).
- Key Skills: High attention to detail and strong, audit-ready technical report writing.
