Talascend is currently seeking a Automotive Porter for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves moving vehicles within the production area, washing and preparing them, performing vehicle inspections, and interacting with truck drivers for vehicle handoffs. The position may include driving vehicles on open roads or within parking lots, depending on the assignment.
Responsibilities
- Move vehicles from one location to another within the production area
- Wash and prepare vehicles for production
- Perform gross and obvious inspections of inbound vehicles
- Interact with truck drivers to facilitate vehicle handoffs
- Drive manual transmission vehicles as needed
- Provide general shop support when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Self-starter and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a team environment and learn new tasks
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
