Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Overview
This role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment and related building systems to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency within a designated territory. The technician will execute a variety of hands-on tasks following industry standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems
- Assist in identification and implementation of operational health and safety strategies
- Evaluate, train, and coach a team of engineers and maintenance technicians
- Complete repairs and maintenance on commercial building systems using industry-standard tools
- Recognize, assess, and mitigate safety risks, especially regarding energized work, heights, and confined spaces
- Use proper PPE and follow safe work practices for all tasks
- Work in various environmental conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and night shifts as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 5-7 years of skilled trades experience
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and determine corrective actions
- Proficiency with computers and software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
- EL07/Journeyman License
The shift hours are negotiable, with work scheduled between 6am-7am and 3pm-4pm.
