Talascend is currently looking for a full-time onsite contract Field Quality Service Technician to work in Warehouse Automation. We look for individuals who are mechanically inclined experienced working with hand tools with emphasis on safety. Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or distribution-center environments preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how basic mechanical components, fasteners, tools, and equipment work.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and understand fundamental concepts such as:
- “Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey” when tightening or loosening standard threaded fasteners.
- Recognizing the difference between common bolts, nuts, washers, clips, dividers, and other hardware.
- Understanding basic hand-tool use and knowing which tool is appropriate for a task.
- Recognizing when a component is loose, improperly installed, damaged, or missing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, including:
- Flatness or dimensional issues
- Incorrect or reversed barcodes
- Missing, damaged, or loose hardware
- Other visible quality or assembly defects
- Ability to follow detailed inspection criteria, specifications, checklists, and work instructions accurately and consistently.
- Experience performing quality inspections, visual inspections, assembly checks, or material inspections preferred.
- Experience handling and moving pallets using a manual pallet jack; forklift experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely load and unload pallets from trucks and move materials within the work area.
- Ability to perform repetitive hands-on tasks, including adding clips and dividers to trays and preparing trays for system insertion.
- Ability to insert and load trays into an automated material handling system while following established procedures.
- Comfortable working around automated conveyor and material handling equipment.
- Ability to recognize and report damaged, defective, or improperly assembled components and escalate issues when necessary.
- Basic computer skills and ability to document inspection results, defects, and completed work.
- Ability to follow all site safety procedures, including PPE requirements and safe material-handling practices.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely in a fast-paced warehouse/industrial environment.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift.
- Forklift or Scissor lift certification is required.
