Talascend is currently seeking an Internal Audit Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.
Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing audits in the company’s key operational areas, including review of processes, operations, and goals, working independently under the supervision of the audit team leader.
Responsibilities
- Perform local audits and assist with conducting audits of different business processes according to the approved audit plan, including financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Manage significant parts of the audit from planning to completion and closing, under the supervision of the local audit head or supervisor.
- Develop risk assessments and audit plans, and share knowledge with less experienced team members.
- Lead audit projects when needed, with close supervision.
- Assist with designing, improving, and executing the annual SOx compliance program for internal controls over financial reporting.
- Participate in internal assurance projects and assignments within the organization.
- Promote a work environment aligned with company values such as safety, teamwork, accountability, relationships, and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of internal audit experience, preferably in a large manufacturing company or Big 4 accounting firms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems, mainly SAP, and proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and implement improvement initiatives and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to translate technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, CIA, CISA, or similar are advantageous.
- Additional languages beyond English are a plus.
- Experience with data analytical tools in audit is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant, CIA, or CISA.

- Experience in using data analytical tools in audit.
