Dubai Metro

The metro system is continuously undergoing updates to improve transport links for the public and there are now plans to install a new line in the Dubai metro system which will connect the current Dubai International Airport with the new Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport at Jebel Ali.

World Expo 2020

Dubai’s successful bid to host the 2020 world expo will result in increased investment into new infrastructure projects around the city. Around 25 million tourists are expected to visit Dubai during the six month event, and approximately $8.1bn will be invested into new infrastructure. Some of the major infrastructure projects expected to take place over the next few years include:

  • Expansion of the Dubai Metro Red Line
  • New concourses at the Maktoum International Airport
  • Interchanges on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road
  • Construction of the main Expo 2020 centre.
