Mechanical Engineer
A Talascend client with projects in Los Alamos, NM has an immediate need for a Mechanical Equipment Engineer.
This engineer will work directly with a team to perform detailed design and analysis of custom equipment, individually and as part of design team. Typical equipment includes containment systems (gloveboxes, hot cells, cleanrooms), material handling equipment, small scale process piping & equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering required from an ABET Accredited Program.
- 1-3 years design engineering experience is preferred
- US Citizenship Required
- Must have the ability to acquire a security clearance.
- Familiarity with 3D design software Creo (ProEngineer), SolidWorks is preferred.
- Familiarity with MathCAD and MS Access a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow regimented quality assurance / quality control procedures.
- Detailed design activities include preparation of fabrication & installation design packages, equipment datasheets, fabrication specifications, procurement specifications, engineering studies, test plans, and detailed equipment sizing & qualification calculations.
- Coordinates detailed phases of design work with others in the same discipline team
