Talascend is currently seeking a Emissions Lab Test Technician for a contract opportunity in Farmington, MI
DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate will have a flexible skillset in order to support a variety of testing on new product development. The key roles of the Emissions Lab technician are to prepare vehicles for testing, perform vehicle testing on the chassis dynamometer, and maintain the lab equipment to ensure accurate results. This job is very dynamic and will require seamless collaboration with other staff to ensure that each test runs as intended. The technician will primarily work in our Emissions test lab but may also work in other functional test areas if required. This position may require travel, overtime work on some weekends, and/or off-shift work as needed. Emissions Test Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Instrumenting vehicles and preparing them for testing, and performing accurate testing on the chassis dynamometer Reading and following complex test plans Assisting the engineering team with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and developing effective countermeasures Communicating accurately and professionally with technicians, engineers, and management teams Tracking personal progress to ensure department and corporate objectives are met Creating detailed technical documents to support test setup and operation as well as creating accurate detailed test reports for submitting to test engineering
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year of experience + 2-year degree or a minimum 5 years of relevant job experience.
Note: A degree is strongly preferred
Preferred 3-5 years directly related experience in vehicle emissions testing
Experience with instrumentation and data collection
Strong automotive mechanical/technical skills, and proficiency using Microsoft Office tools Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Positive attitude, eagerness to learn new tasks and must have the ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
SKILLS:
1 year of experience + 2-year degree or a minimum 5 years of relevant job experience.
3-5 years directly related experience in vehicle emissions testing
Experience with instrumentation and data collection
