Talascend is currently seeking a Buyer for a long-term contract for a multinational Aerospace and Defense company, onsite in Walpole, MA.
OVERVIEW:
As a Buyer in Defense Naval, you will provide outstanding service to internal stakeholders by validating and satisfying requirements efficiently and effectively, as well as interface with internal supplier management teams and external suppliers. Our client delivers the best marine propulsion systems in the world. Through intelligent innovation and active collaboration, they are putting customers at the forefront of the naval marine industry. Their product portfolio powers numerous marine vessels for the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and certain other military fleets around the world.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, working across all areas of the business and regions.
- Prioritize, plan and manage daily workflow, purchasing tasks, status and reporting.
- Perform standard purchasing transactional and administrative tasks.
- Ensure supplier selection and sourcing recommendations are in accordance with agreed commodity strategies and commercial frameworks.
- Operating and complying with all purchasing processes, procedures, and systems.
- Identifying and recommending workflow process efficiency improvements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree and 1-3 years of experience in customer service, purchasing, logistics or supply chain preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in customer service, purchasing, logistics or supply chain in lieu of a degree.
- In order to be considered for this position, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management in a US Defense manufacturing environment highly preferred.
