Talascend is currently seeking a Sr. Software Engineer  in the Automotive industry for an  ADAS Software Engineer (Deep Learning)  contract opportunity located in Warren, MI.

JOB TITLE:           Sr. Software Engineer Automotive-ADAS Deep Learning
DURATION:        One year with possible extension
LOCATION:         Warren, MI; Hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thurs On-Site); Ability to work a W2 Assignment is required. 

JOB SUMMARY:
ADAS Software Engineer (Deep Learning):
The main function of a Software Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems.  
Research and development Team works on the safety autonomous vehicle research. Everything In that space is what this team works on. Planning, mapping, etc.   For this project, you will be working on futuristic types of SW developing new software, i.e., utilizing cameras to develop markings when driving, trying to build a model around a vehicle. The Software Engineer will help to develop the software and be part of a team of about 12. Everyone works as a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role will entail supporting researchers to modify machine learning models, along with training, testing and visualization.
• Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.

• Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data.
• Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
• Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
• Prepare the detailed software specifications and test plans.
• Code new programs to client’s specifications and create test data for testing.
• Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
• Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
• Provide quality assurance reviews.
• Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED SKILL SETS:
  • Excellent Python programming skills, including PyTorch/TensorFlow, NumPy, etc.
  • Strong computer vision and deep learning theoretical background.
  • 2+ years of experience in implementing and testing CNN Architectures for object detection.
  • AI/ML tools and framework experience
  • C and C++ and Programming skills
• Bachelor's degree in technical field, i.e., computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience required.

Experience with transformer architectures, RNNs, LLMs.
• Data analysis skills (visualization, working with JSON, etc.)
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

• Large systems software design and development experience.
• Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting, unit testing both new and legacy production systems
• Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant discipline, PhD preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience required.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Large systems software design and development experience.
• Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting, unit testing, both new & legacy production systems.
• Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution.
