Accounting Specialist
Talascend is seeking an Accounting Specialist for an opportunity in Hazel Park, MI.
Summary:
Provides essential accounting support by using professional judgement directly affecting the accuracy of the organization’s financial and operating performance. Under direction of the Finance Director assisting accounts payable in verification of vendor invoices, obtaining approvals, coding to appropriate general ledger accounts and verification of credit balance refunds; preparation of monthly accruals; reconciliations of general ledger accounts as assigned; assistance to other Finance department members as needed including special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts; assists in preparing monthly financial statement.
- Coordinates the preparation of regularly scheduled and special billings.
- Calculates and prepares reimbursement billings and tracks receivables; reconciles monthly accounts receivable.
- Prepares audit schedules for external auditors and acts as a liaison between client and auditors.
- Assists in preparing and filing annual financial statements.
- Assists with the preparation of the annual and mid-year budgets.
- Assists with fixed asset accounting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum 1 years of experience.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications (ERP).
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Korean and English (Recommended).
