Talascend is currently seeking an Entry-Level Prototype and Pre-Production Electric Motors Technician for a contract opportunity located in Pontiac, MI. This role will be on-site.

We are searching for a self-motivated individual to fill the role of ENTRY LEVEL Prototype and Pre-Production Electric Motors Technician. In this position, you will be responsible the construction of prototype and pre-production electric motors for product and process validation and development. Additionally, you will participate in BPD, GMS and on-site training programs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Participate in BPD/GMS process, to meet strategic plans.
- Document and track all department deficiencies through various problem-solving techniques.
- Build prototype and preproduction electric motors in accordance with the build schedule.
- Analyze motor defects and perform repairs as required.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop welding process for new motor designs.
- Modify and build simply fixtures and tooling.
- Operate machine shop equipment, and motor lab equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, robotic welder, wire forming machines).
- Perform motor electrical tests in accordance with authorized procedures.
- Maintain records on work performed, analyzes data collected and reports results.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands on mechanical experience.
- Associate degree or experience in mechanical or electrical activities.
- Prior prototype build experience.
- Knowledge and theory of electric motors.
- Manufacturing knowledge of electric Motors.
- Knowledge of assembly build processes in Manufacturing.
