Talascend is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a Process Engineer position with a leading automotive manufacturer located in Romulus, MI. 

SUMMARY:

Process Engineer supporting manufacturing production floor with machining processes. Included and not limited to throughput and quality improvements.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Kick off shift to shift hand off meeting.
*Looking at major breakdowns and focus on attention to downtime.
*There is a combination of on the floor support and doing process control and CI work.
*Will work with other departments for problem solving and trouble shooting and solving quality and manufacturing issues.
 *Will work directly with union and hourly folks. They will work with quality maintenance and production teams. Roughly 16 team members.
* Propose and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas.
* Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
* Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
* Evaluate expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
* Provide technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
* Works closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
* Analyze tooling and equipment and select proper steps for solution.
* Communicate with internal and external business units.
* Support plants in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals.
* Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.


REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors Degree in engineering or related discipline.
* 2-4 years of experience required.

*Nice to have skills- Understanding CMM reports, laser welding experience (Not requirement), Global dimensioning and tolerancing.
*Must have skills: Need 1 year of machining experience
* Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
* Basic knowledge of tooling processes.
* Basic knowledge of automotive industry processes.
* Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool.
* Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
