Talascend is currently seeking an Android Development Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Newark, California-based client, 100% on-site. 

Must be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship

OVERVIEW: 

This role supports in-vehicle Android software development focused on user interface components such as system settings, owner's manual, HVAC, and release notes. You’ll contribute to creating high-quality user experiences in a fast-paced, innovative automotive environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Develop and implement Android software for automotive UI features
  • Collaborate with UX and Product teams to refine user-facing features
  • Design, test, and optimize system performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure a reliable product
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high-quality codebase

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of Android development experience with successful product launches
  • Hands-on expertise with Android SDK and APK
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin
  • Experience with GitLab and software development best practices
  • Preferred experience in automotive development or with companies like Google or Samsung
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
