Talascend is seeking a Process Improvement Manager for our client’s highly automated Steel Manufacturing Operations near Mobile, AL.

Overview
This role leads the Production Planning department and drives initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, scheduling efficiency, and data-driven decision-making in a continuous production environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and experience in steel or integrated metals manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project development and implementation to improve planning processes
  • Analyze data and generate reports to support key business decisions
  • Manage priorities and performance of the Improvement team
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet defined objectives
  • Collaborate with other departments to align planning efforts with organizational needs
  • Maintain and enhance automated planning and scheduling systems
  • Develop automated reports to track and support key performance indicators

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Production Scheduling, Supply Chain Management, or Production Planning, preferably in a carbon steel environment
  • 2+ years of inventory planning experience
  • Experience with SAP MRP systems and optimization models
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, and VBA
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and data flows, constraints, and order lifecycle
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation
  • Experience in continuous production and steel manufacturing environments preferred
