Our client is currently seeking a Sr Project Controls Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity in Wallingford, CT, Newton, MA, Atlanta, GA, or Houston, TX.

Overview
This role leads project controls processes and works closely with the project management team to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction. The position includes responsibility for schedule and budget reporting, data analysis, and leadership in project controls across multiple large projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project controls processes and provide consultation to project management

  • Present schedule and budget status reports to project management and client

  • Analyze data, logs, and reports using Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools

  • Validate the proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is in use

  • Develop scheduling, cost, and cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects

  • Manage the reporting data warehouse to support program controls

  • Provide leadership and training to team members

  • Maintain relationships with clients, customers, and contractors

  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction planning, logistics, and cost control

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for project teams

  • Validate cost management and forecast reporting accuracy

  • Interface with Project Management and Accounting to review project and contingency costs and support audits

  • Review contract change orders and purchase orders

  • Analyze and report on cash flow

  • Lead Project Controls reporting presentations

  • Validate schedule progress and conduct schedule what-if analyses

  • Apply critical path scheduling techniques and document control practices

  • Validate earned value management system reporting

  • Analyze progress measurement and progress curves

  • Oversee Risk Management process

  • Conduct quality checks and inspections of deliverables

  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Comply with all company policies and standards
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, and 7 years of direct project controls experience (or equivalent applicable experience)

  • Experience in the Utility Industry, specifically Electrical transmission and distribution

  • Expertise in critical path scheduling, cost management, estimating, Earned Value Management, and document control

  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6

  • Ability to produce and interface detailed construction schedules with engineering and procurement

  • Experience developing and reporting CPI and SPI performance indicators

  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain
