Our client in Trexlertown, PA is seeking a Laboratory Technician with Thermal experience to join their team. This role offers a competitive rate along with benefits.

Work Schedule: Standard site hours, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Flexible start and end times are available within a +/- 30-minute window.

The Laboratory Technician - performs accurate and timely thermal and analytical testing of routine and non-routine lab samples in accordance with appropriate laboratory and safety guidelines, ensuring that results and samples obtained meet internal and external customer requirements. Key areas include material properties, melt flow, rheology, calorimetry, and viscosity.

This role also participates in laboratory investigations, equipment evaluations and qualifications, and quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), hazard reviews, setting up analytical equipment, performing equipment maintenance and calibration, safeguarding samples and testing records, and executing all duties safely and efficiently.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate polymer testing equipment involving high temperatures and forces; perform thermal and wet chemistry analyses.
  • Follow, review, and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), testing standards (ISO, ASTM), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Maintain laboratory data management systems, logs, and generate reports as needed.
  • Support equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repairs.
  • Identify operational gaps, recommend improvements, and coordinate projects assigned.
  • Train and mentor team members, promote quality compliance, and encourage positive work habits.
  • Ensure adherence to Environmental, Safety, Health, and Security (ESHS) policies, complete required training, report incidents promptly, and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Communicate proactively with internal customers, management, and cross-functional teams.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate Degree in Material Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years’ experience in thermal testing of polymers within a laboratory environment
  • Proficient in wet chemistry techniques
  • Ability to follow and interpret testing procedures (SOP, ISO, ASTM)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work overtime as needed
